today was rather busy. but busy is good!

first off, i woke up early for community service. i went down to brooklyn to work for a homeless program that gives furniature to needy families who have just gotten new homes... but namely i folded sheets for five hours.

afterwards, after hanging out at my apartment for a while, i was lucky enough to get left-over tickets to the lion king from my school-- so my evening was spent rockin' it out in times square on broadway.

although the entire set-up was truthfully rather surreal, the costumes by julie taymor were absolutely stunning and amazing. seriously, i am inspired to draw an entire picture based on the concepts of her puppetry and masks. the way that the animal features were incorporated with people was excellently done, and the singing was quite good. i was muchly impressed by the dance numbers more than anything else, though.

damn... seeig this made me want to see across the universe all the more.

but yeah. things are going great :D

WOW i have not updated in forever. okay, so here is how the last few days have planned out.

one, kit-kat and i went to see superbad.

two, my dad took me to olkaholma to gamble my college savings away at the casinos. (WOO)

three, i moved to new york. the move was horrible and ended with the destruction of my scanner. this has left me beyond pissed, as this is but another expense to add to everything else. however, the move IN to the dorm was rather painless.

my dorm is rather awesome. big kitchen, a dining room, private bathroom... it's all good. there are still lots of things me and my suitemates need to buy, but so far only my room mate and i have shown up. i honestly have no clue where the other two are

uhh one of our drawers are broken and so is our toilet. we're currently trying to get those fixed.

i met some cool people, and hopefully these will lead to friendships. i also met somebody from southlake (WEIRD), who said that there is another person... a freshman, who is also from southlake, who as well is an animation major.

today mostly was spent hanging out. i played n64 with lots of people and met many through it, and went to various orientation shit. more to do tomorrow. i was invited to go see superbad with a group of people, but it seemed rather unappealing to go see a movie i have already seen at 12 bucks a pop per ticket. ...guess it would be better than sitting in my room alone, though. :/

there is a ladybug on my screen.

today kit-kat and i went to see a play at the bass performance hall, which is an awesome and amazing building.

but otherwise...

last week i went on a picnic with my friends. here i am, dead from the exhaustion of playing soccer in 100 degree heat



we had a very "competitive" game of soccer, which was namely spent with us kicking the ball as hard as we could so the other person could go running after it.









i am really going to miss my friends.
