uhh lesse. in the last two weeks i...

went to the star wars exhibit at the ft. worth museum - which was real neat. all of the original costumes, models, and puppets; and how the robotics and vehicles related to new finds in science and advancements in technology. got a few ideas for my comic from the robotic exhibit

slaved away on a drawing, which inking i will post soon enough

watched tideland, requiem for a dream, and jacob's ladder

dad came home from west virginia, in which started my harry potter-filled day. i got a copy of the seventh installment, and family and i went to the omnitheatre to see the fifth movie

i finished the final harry potter book, which i overall enjoyed. the epilogue was really lame and completely unnecessary, but at least it'll be a stab to the hearts of thousands of insane harry potter shippers

bought guitar hero, phoenix wright (FINALLY), and shadow of the colossus.

i beat phoenix wright, and now want to get the 2nd one...

...and i put in resignation for my job. only a few more weeks until new york.

yet another boring post about my boring life

I have had the last two days off of work, and have amazingly done...

Nothing.

I love how the feeling of a day off makes one feel as if all the time in the world is suddenly presentable; yet, when one gets the day off, people usually end up sitting on their asses, bored as hell.

On Sunday i went to a showing of Ratatouille, and overly left me more enticed with 3D animated than I have ever been before. The animation was striking and amazing, and even the ending credits were captivating. The story was rather simple but, being directed and written by Brad Bird (the director of my favorite animated movie, The Iron Giant), it was executed quite nicely.
The movie's philosophy of critics was probably one of my more favorite parts, and although I still enjoyed the film, the overall execution of Ratatouille made up for Pixar's presentation of Cars last year.

After the movies, very much craving nice food after a film on cooking, Kit-Kat and I grabbed my first taste of Greek food-- which was amazing. I have definitely gathered a strong liking for hummus and duma, alongside honey-enriched baklava. mm.

I haven't done an awful lot since then besides working, watching Terry Gilliam films, reading this book called Replay and generally being useless, but so it goes for a college student in waiting. This has probably been the first summer in my entire life where I have literally counted down the remaining days of the summer in hope of its passing, rather than the fret of it.

Buut... only 44 more days until the move. I can deal with that.

work hours changed to part-time starting next week, so i now have more time to prep for college. i am plenty tired after working overtime for the past two weeks, but so far things haven't been too bad. i've been moving to different positions in the bakery, so time has been passing a lot faster without the usual repetition.

things are good regardless, and hopefully i'll be seeing ratatouille this weekend alongside going to the star wars exhibit. in the meantime, i have been relaxing by practicing semi-realism with my markers :D my dog was my guinea pig

hopefully i'll actually WORK on my art shit this weekend!

might as well update this damn thing.

well, let's see. this is going to be my pre and post new york journal, suggestion via kit-kat. all my random shit and adventures will go here and hopefully, unlike most of the journals that i tend to keep, it will not die and fade into oblivion as another waste of cyberspace.

as i am still in the bible belt, i will make a rundown.

my life has namely been about work. yeah, i work this crappy 40 hour+ job at a grocery making tortillas all day, and really... it's quite amazing how quickly the smell of tortillas can make you nauseous after making them eight hours straight per every day of the week.

it's really not so bad, but i wish that i had time to do other things rather than make 100+ tortillas per ungreatful customer. such as, actually finishing some art this summer. this one piece for instance has been sitting on my desk since graduation, and since i have today off, i should probably get around to finishing it.

...yes, apparently my texas roots have finally caught up to me and have forced me to draw cow and longhorn skulls. i am ashamed.
